Bar B Que Sauce
NOTE: This is my own personal recipe. May be passed in a food processor to make it creamy.
1 onion, minced
2 cloves garlic, minced
½ green pepper, minced
3 Tbsp. vegetable oil
40 oz. ketchup
1 tsp. mustard
½ tsp. kitchen bouquet
½ cup dark brown sugar or Steens syrup (I use the syrup)
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp. lemon juice, fresh lemon
Salt, black and red pepper to taste
1/8 tsp. baking soda
Saute the onions, green pepper and garlic in oil. Add the ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce and lemon juice. Season to taste. Stir well and let come to a boil. Turn heat to low and let cook for 5 minutes, then let the sauce sit until ready to use.
