2 cups flour
2 tsp. baking powder
¼ salt
¼ sugar
2 eggs
Vegetable oil

Mix flour, baking powder, salt and sugar together. Add eggs. Stir. Add a small amount of milk and stir, adding more if necessary to make a mixture that “just drops” from a spoon, not pour.
Test if the oil is hot enough by dropping a little into the hot oil. The oil is ready if the mixture immediately rises to the top. When the oil is ready fill a teaspoon and begin dropping the mixture into the oil and cook until brown on all sides. Eat with butter, syrup, powdered sugar, cold meats, bacon, sausage or plain.
