Corn Bread Dressing
NOTE: Cook corn bread in advance for it to crumble easier. I have a homemade recipe located in Extras or you can just use a couple of boxes of Jiffy Cornbread Mix.
1 lb. ground beef
1 lb. breakfast sausage, Owens mild
1 cup celery, chopped
1 cup onions, chopped
1 cup green peppers, chopped
1 cup green onions, chopped
1 16oz. Can beef broth
Corn bread (check recipe in this book or use a box recipe)
Brown meats separately, drain, then mix both meats together in pan. Add the onions, green onions, green peppers and celery. Cook covered until wilted on medium heat. Add beef broth and crumbled corn bread. Let this soak up the juices. Season to taste. If too dry add more broth or water.
