Pound Cake

12 servings

2 ¾ cups flour

2 ¼ tsp. baking soda

1 cup vegetable oil

1 ¾ cups sugar

1 ½ tsp. salt

1 cup milk

1 tsp. vanilla

1 tsp. almond extract

4 eggs

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Mix by hand, the first 8 ingredients.  Then using a mixer beat for 2 minutes.  Add 3 eggs and mix well.  Then add the remaining egg.  Mix well.  Pour in 10 inch tube pan and  bake for 1 hour and 10 minutes.

Optional:

Sprinkle ground or chopped nuts on the bottom of the pan.  Or when pouring in pan take out a little of the  batter and add about 2 or 3 Tbsp. of cocoa to the mixture.  Stir.  Swirl in pan for a marble cake.
