Smoked Sausage in Red Gravy
Note: This is Zack’s, my son, recipe. This meal is ready in just one hour…but the longer it cooks…the better it is.
1 Pkg. smoked sausage, Hillshire Farms
1 onion, chopped
5 cloves garlic
1 Tbsp. soy sauce
¼ cup water
2 cans 8oz. Tomato sauce
Salt, black and red pepper, to taste
Kitchen bouquet, 1 cap full
Brown sliced sausage. When brown add the onions. Let brown and soften.
Add the soy sauce. Let boil until it sticks to the bottom. Add water, stir bottom drippings to make gravy. Add onions, garlic, seasonings and kitchen bouquet.
Stir and sauté for 1 minute.
Add tomato sauce. Cover and cook for 2-3 hours. Stir occasionally.
Serve over rice.
